Everything You Wanted To Know About Teaching Piaffe But Were Afraid To Ask
One of the things I am most grateful for is that in all my travels I have met some pretty amazing horse people. One of the most fascinating is my good friend Joseph Newcomb. Based out of Arroyo Del Mar, home to Steffen Peters, his skill set has landed him assisting the biggest names in our sport. His expertise is helping improve dressage horses by using work In-Hand.
His approach is to teach collection from a state of relaxation, both physically and mentally. Joseph's calm energy rubs off on every horse that has the pleasure to be under his tutelage. His training consists of very clearly and systematically moving through the stages of training while ensuring the horse has a perfect understanding of the expectations before moving on. Through true understanding comes relaxation. Joseph's ability to break everything down into clear and understandable goals is what makes him brilliant.
I'm so thrilled he is doing a free video series on the stages he goes through to teach collection. Ever feel like you don't know where to start? So do I! But now you can follow along right from the very beginning!
